Her work on women empowerment is a testament to her professionalism, blending financial rigour with ethical responsibility.

Jolandi Wassermann is a seasoned compliance professional with over three decades of experience in financial services. Her career encompasses various roles in legal, risk management, ethics, fraud, and tax compliance.

Since June 2021, Jolandi has served as the Chief Compliance Officer at FirstRand Group, where she leads a team recognised for their innovative work in automation and data analytics. Under her leadership, the team won the CISA Most Innovative Compliance Team award in 2022 and 2024, as well as FirstRand’s Most Innovative Business Unit award.


Jolandi is passionate about people development and nurturing people and talent, which she considers the most valuable asset. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, cooking, and reading. She is currently pursuing international studies in financial crime risk management.

CISA Vice Chair

Rianné is a Chartered Accountant (SA) and Compliance Professional (SA). During
her 27-year career in banking she filled various senior management roles in
business, finance, risk management, internal audit and compliance.
She ran her own compliance consulting firm for 8 years before being appointed
as the CEO of the Compliance Institute Southern Africa in July 2018. She is also
the Chair of the International Federation of Compliance Associations (IFCA).
She is passionate about compliance and ensuring that the compliance
profession is positioned as a strategic business partner, an independent
assurance provider and what it means to be the ‘C’ in GRC.
She became a Chartered Accountant at the age of 41 and lives by her personal motto ‘It is never too late to have a happy childhood (or a new career).
